Platform Information
Platform Information: How Sylk Health Operates
This page describes how the Sylk Health marketplace functions, what data it collects, and what individuals should understand before using the platform. It is not a sales page or a legal document. It is a plain-language explanation of how the platform works and what it does not do.
Sylk Health is operated by Hydra Holdings FZ, registered in Meydan Free Zone, Dubai.
What Sylk Health Is and Is Not
Sylk Health is a marketplace, directory, and booking-infrastructure layer for international healthcare. Providers at JCI (Joint Commission International) (opens in new tab) or equivalent nationally accredited facilities list procedures with published pricing and availability. Users browse, compare, and book directly with the facility they select.
What Sylk Health Does Not Do
The following is a complete list of functions the platform does not perform. These are architectural boundaries, not disclaimers.
- Does not provide medical advice, diagnosis, or treatment
- Does not employ or supervise healthcare providers
- Does not supervise or control the clinical practice of healthcare providers
- Does not coordinate care, arrange travel, or manage logistics
- Does not verify, set, or guarantee provider pricing
- Does not endorse or recommend specific providers
- Does not process payments for medical procedures
- Does not collect clinical information, diagnosis codes, or medical history
- Does not access, store, or transmit medical records
Revenue Model
Providers fund the marketplace through commissions on completed treatment. No fee is charged to users. No listing fee is charged to providers.
Accreditation Threshold
JCI or equivalent national accreditation (such as China’s 3A tertiary hospital classification) is the listing threshold. This is a listing criterion, not an endorsement of individual providers. Accreditation status is declared by providers. No proprietary quality scores. No editorial rankings. No featured placements.
Pricing
Providers publish their own procedure pricing directly through the platform. Prices reflect the facility’s listed rates and are not set, negotiated, or verified by Sylk Health. Prices may change without notice and may not include all costs associated with treatment.
How Booking Works
To submit a booking, a user provides two things: an email address and the name of the procedure they are interested in. No account creation is required. No payment is collected.
The provider receives the booking request and contacts the user directly. Sylk Health’s involvement ends at the point of booking. From that point, the relationship is between the user and the provider. Sylk Health does not participate in, manage, or monitor the interaction.
The booking is free. It carries no obligation. Users may cancel at any time.
Data Collection and Privacy
The data controller is Hydra Holdings FZ, registered in Meydan Free Zone, Dubai.
What Is Collected
The platform’s data record for each user consists of three fields: an auto-assigned ID (not derived from any external identifier), an email address, and the name of the procedure for which a booking was requested.
What Is Not Collected
No names. No dates of birth. No insurance identifiers. No diagnosis codes. No medical history. No payment information. No demographic information. A person using the marketplace is indistinguishable from any other visitor.
Who Data Is Shared With
When a user submits a booking, the email address and procedure name are shared with the provider the user selected. This constitutes a cross-border data transfer to the country where the provider is located. No data is shared with any other party.
Data Deletion
To request deletion of your data, contact contact@sylkhealth.com.
Data that does not exist cannot be breached, subpoenaed, or sold.
International Healthcare Context
Regulatory frameworks governing healthcare vary by country. Standards of care, licensing requirements, and complaint mechanisms differ from those in the user’s home country.
Malpractice recourse in international settings may be limited or may operate under different legal frameworks than domestic options. The availability and enforceability of legal remedies depends on the jurisdiction where treatment is provided.
The American Medical Association (opens in new tab) recommends that individuals considering international healthcare consult with their own physicians to evaluate whether international care is appropriate for their situation (AMA Opinion 1.2.13, 2018).
Health insurance coverage may not extend to procedures performed at international facilities. Users should verify coverage with their insurer before proceeding.
Users are responsible for evaluating whether international healthcare is appropriate for their individual situation, including travel fitness, recovery requirements, and follow-up care arrangements.
Reporting a Concern About a Listed Provider
To report a concern about a provider listed on the marketplace, contact contact@sylkhealth.com or use the contact form.
Include the provider name, the nature of the concern, and the approximate date of the interaction. Do not submit medical records, clinical details, or personal health information. Sylk Health does not collect or process clinical data.
Sylk Health may review the listing, contact the provider, and update or remove a listing where the concern relates to listing accuracy or accreditation status.
Sylk Health does not investigate clinical outcomes, mediate disputes between users and providers, or guarantee the resolution of concerns. For concerns about clinical care, users should contact the relevant regulatory authority in the country where treatment was provided.
